Helmut Figdor’s psychoanalytic pedagogy: in-depth psychological aspects of the work of a psychoanalytic-oriented teacher at an institution of pre-school educational

Abstract

Helmut Figdor points to a common prejudice – that educational errors arise mainly due to incorrect pedagogical views. He singles out the main principle of psychoanalytically-oriented teacher’s work at a preschool educational institution: if the teacher wants to help the child, then it is necessary, first of all, to understand the essence of the parents’ problem, that is, to forget about the child’s problem for a while [5]. If parents feel that the teacher is interested in their problems, we can talk about the beginning of a relationship of trust and constructive work to realize that they need help. Only after that, the child-oriented conversation begins, as parents will be able to perceive recommendations as support, and not as criticism and encroachment on the personal sphere.
