Метафора зору у філософії в контексті ідеї Блага Платона

Abstract

У статті досліджується проблема метафори зору і світла у філософії Платона у взаємозв’язку з ідеєю Блага. Показано, що «мислення поглядом», мислення через «бачення» є важливою складовою процесу пізнання і культури філософського мислення. Metaphors play a key role in philosophy. They are not just means of expressiveness, but a heuristic instrument that forms philosophical systems. Consequently, on the one hand, with the help of metaphors, philosophy is freed from excessive abstraction, directing thought into specific channel. On the other hand, metaphors form the means of figurative expressiveness, which does not offer an available, logically grounded theory. So there is a task to find out how the means of figurative expression are acting. We can find it in a well-known Plato’s allegory of the cave. The “cave” represents the human nature with regard to its "enlightenment". People in the Cave use at least two senses, eyesight and hearing, as opposed to those in the sun watching the visible world.
