Advantages of using artificial intelligence (AI) in higher education

Abstract

The use of AI is already spreading across various areas of life, including education, as it can significantly improve students' knowledge and skills and simplify the learning process. In general, there are both opponents and supporters of the use of AI in education. However, it is impossible to deny the objectivity of its existence as an integral part of the modern digitalized world [2, р. 20]. Modern Internet and cloud services allow students to organize their independent work according to new, interactive and controlled principles. The use of online courses is one of the effective methods of ensuring independent work of students [3, p. 7]. Due to the fact that distance and blended learning currently prevails in Ukraine, the methodically balanced use of AI tools will lead to a greater dissemination of science in Ukraine, provide access to the latest scientific discoveries, involve students in the use of the latest digital technologies, help students perform routine tasks in the educational process and determine the previous level of their training [4, p. 89]. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, 2020, adopted the Concept of Artificial Intelligence Development, the purpose of which is to determine the priority areas and main tasks of developing artificial intelligence technologies to satisfy the rights and legitimate interests of individuals and legal entities, build a competitive national economy, and improve the public administration system. Використання ШІ вже поширюється в різних сферах життя, зокрема в освіті, оскільки він може значно покращити знання та навички студентів і спростити процес навчання. Загалом, є як противники, так і прихильники використання ШІ в освіті. Однак неможливо заперечувати об'єктивність його існування як невід'ємної частини сучасного цифрового світу [2, с. 20].

Сучасний Інтернет та хмарні сервіси дозволяють студентам організовувати свою самостійну роботу за новими, інтерактивними та контрольованими принципами. Використання онлайн-курсів є одним із ефективних методів забезпечення самостійної роботи студентів [3, с. 7]. З огляду на те, що в Україні зараз переважає дистанційне та змішане навчання, методично збалансоване використання інструментів ШІ призведе до більшого поширення науки в Україні, забезпечить доступ до новітніх наукових відкриттів, залучить студентів до використання новітніх цифрових технологій, допоможе студентам виконувати рутинні завдання в навчальному процесі та визначить попередній рівень їхньої підготовки [4, с. 89].

Кабінет Міністрів України у 2020 році прийняв Концепцію розвитку штучного інтелекту, метою якої є визначення пріоритетних напрямків та основних завдань розвитку технологій штучного інтелекту для задоволення прав та законних інтересів фізичних та юридичних осіб, побудови конкурентоспроможної національної економіки та вдосконалення системи державного управління.
