Abstract: The article is devoted to the study of the peculiarities of digital transformation of the educational process of a higher education institution. The current state of modernisation and reform of the educational system defines local digitalisation as a process aimed at facilitating and improving the conditions for the provision of quality educational services, rebuilding the digital infrastructure of an educational institution in such a way that it meets modern ideas about the development of educational trajectories and adopting adequate changes in the high-quality training of students. Effective digital transformation of a higher education institution points to the need for teachers to develop digital competence, which implies: the ability to make "digital decisions", confident and strategic use of digital technologies in the educational environment, media experience and basic skills in programming educational media content, compliance with cybersecurity and ethics of working with digital information (academic integrity, respect for intellectual property rights, work with scientific and digital databases).
