Material as a concept in fashion design: experimental approaches to form-making and design

Abstract

The study demonstrates that material in contemporary fashion design functions not only as a constructive basis of a garment but also as an integral conceptual element of artistic design. Experimental materials expand the boundaries of traditional form-making and shape a new aesthetic of contemporary fashion that combines technologicality, conceptuality, and environmental responsibility. Form-making increasingly depends on material properties, which determine plasticity, silhouette structure, and the artistic imagery system of a collection. Дослідження демонструє, що матеріал у сучасному дизайні одягу функціонує не лише як конструктивна основа одягу, але й як невід'ємний концептуальний елемент художнього дизайну. Експериментальні матеріали розширюють межі традиційного формотворення та формують нову естетику сучасної моди, яка поєднує технологічність, концептуальність та екологічну відповідальність. Формотворення дедалі більше залежить від властивостей матеріалу, які визначають пластичність, силуетну структуру та систему художніх образів колекції.
