Abstract: One of the directions in the development of domestic pedagogical science at the present stage is the elaboration of conceptual approaches to the reform of higher pedagogical education in the country. Ukrainian society requires highly qualified pedagogical and scientific-pedagogical staff, since the foundation of the progressive development of any state is high-quality education, which is impossible without effective teaching personnel. At the same time, university teachers must continuously expand their knowledge and skills, transmitting professionally significant information to students. The development of professional competence, the mastery of educational innovations, and the improvement of teaching abilities are facilitated by non-formal education. The purpose of the article: to characterize the features of organizing non-formal education for university teachers and to prove its role in the professional development of academic staff.
