Abstract: The use of traditional folk instruments is common in Chinese musical culture. When mentioning China, the auditory associations with the colorful intonations of the musical folklore of this people immediately arise. And it is quite logical, since from the begin ning of the existence of Chinese civilization, traditional music has been an important part of this nation’s life. Today, in comparison with many countries of the world, performance on folk string instruments in China has been preserved very well, and the main thing is that it was not too significantly influenced by Western culture during the period of the open policy of the state. However, a relative reformation of traditional string instruments in Chinese musical culture of the 21 st century did take place .
